    • GEOFFROY de Bretagne, son of CONAN I "le Tort" Duke of Brittany and hi s wife Ermengarde d'Anjou [980]-20 Nov 1008).  His parentage is confi rmed by the Chronico Sancti Michaelis which records that "Gaufridus Du x Britanniæ filius Conani filii Juhelli Berengarii" died in 1008"du m pergeret Romam causa orationis".  He succeeded his father 992 as GEO FFROY I Duke of Brittany.  Guillaume de Jumiè ges records that comt e Geoffroy died on the return journey from a pilgrimage to Rome, havin g left his two sons under the protection of Richard II Duke of Normand y.  A charter dated 1026 recalls that "Gaufridus, Conani Curvi filius " was killed "apud Concuruz prelium".  The Chronicon Kemperlegiense re cords the death "dum pergeret Romam" in 1008 of "Gauffridus Dux Britan niæ filius Conanifilii Iuhaë lis Berengarii".
      He married (996) HAVISE de Normandie, daughter of RICHARD I "Sans-Peur " Comte [de Normandie] and his second wife Gunnora --- -21 Feb 1034).   Guillaume de Jumiè ges names Hadvise,wife of "Geoffroi comte des Br etons", as the second of the three daughters of Duke Richard and Gunno ra, and in a later passage records her marriage after the death of he r father.  A charter dated 1008 records that, after the death of "Gauf rido comite Britanniæ", "filii eius Alanus et Eudo cum matre eorum Had eguisia" restored the abbey of St. Mé en.  "… Aduise matre eorum comit um…" signed the charter dated to [1013/22] under which "Alanus et Egi o Britannorum monarchi" founded the priory of Livré "in pago Redonens i".  The Chronico Kemperlegiensi records the death "1034 IX Kal Mar" o f "Haduisa comitissa Britanniæ; vidua Gauffridi".
